A woman’s Facebook post has gone viral after she shared a touching story of kindness and generosity. Mary Mingo Williams was driving home from work in Port Arthur, Texas, when her car ran out of gas on a busy road. Stranded and frustrated, she tried to push her car, but many vehicles honked at her, and no one stopped to help.
Just when she thought all hope was lost, a group of soldiers appeared out of nowhere and began pushing her car. They literally pushed it from one location to another, all the way to a nearby gas station. Mary was overwhelmed with gratitude and asked if she could take their picture to share their good deed with others.
But that wasn’t the only act of kindness Mary experienced that day. A kind stranger jumped out of his truck and offered the soldiers $100 to buy themselves a meal. However, the soldiers refused, saying they were just doing what they were raised to do. The stranger then turned to Mary and filled up her gas tank, telling her to keep the money she had in her pocket.
Mary’s Facebook post sharing this heartwarming story has been shared by over 10,000 people, touching the hearts of many. Her story is a reminder that there are still good people in the world who are willing to lend a helping hand. As Mary so eloquently put it, “When you are a child of God, no matter what obstacles are placed in your way, the Lord always has a ram in the bush.”
