Gene Simmons Sparks Controversy as Guest Judge on Dancing with the Stars

The recent episode of Dancing with the Stars featuring Gene Simmons as a guest judge has left fans divided. While some were excited to see the KISS frontman bring his unique perspective to the show, others were worried about his potential comments.

During the “Hair Metal Night” episode, Simmons provided feedback to the contestants, but his comments were not without controversy. When praising Chandler Kinney’s performance, Simmons said, “Chandler, you fogged up my glasses.” He also complimented her on her emotional connection to the dance, saying, “You moved me, not just with your gyrations and so on, but your beautiful face and how you were into the emotion of it — top to bottom.”

However, not all of Simmons’ comments were well-received. When judging Danny Amendola and Witney Carson’s performance, he said, “You know this is a brand new experience for me, and it’s difficult to look at both of you and to figure out which one is more hot, hot, hot.” Some viewers found his comments to be objectifying and creepy.

Simmons’ feedback for Reginald VelJohnson and Emma Slater’s performance also raised eyebrows. He told VelJohnson, “You’ve got a beautiful woman right beside you, who can twist it and turn it, and knows how to move it and, you know, all that.” While VelJohnson took the comment in stride, some viewers felt that Simmons’ focus on physical appearance was misplaced.

The controversy surrounding Simmons’ comments has sparked a heated debate among fans. Some have called for him to be banned from judging again, while others have defended his right to express his opinions. Regardless of where you stand, it’s clear that Gene Simmons’ appearance on Dancing with the Stars will not be forgotten anytime soon.
