Uncovering the Talent of Six Nyamane: From Hockey to Hollywood

Six Nyamane, born Mpume, is the fresh face captivating audiences as Nozipho Cele on Generations: The Legacy. With a versatile portfolio, she’s played characters like Buhle on Scandal! and Natasha in Blessers, showcasing her impressive range.

The origin of her nickname “Six” is rooted in her hockey days, where she played position six. This numerical moniker stuck, even as she transitioned to acting.

Nyamane’s passion for hockey began in grade 4 and continued until matric. However, her move to Johannesburg led her to discover a new passion – acting. Despite her family’s initial disapproval, she pursued her dream, enrolling in Unisa.

Her journey wasn’t without challenges. Nyamane’s mother disapproved of her abandoning academics for acting, but she persisted. Her big break came when a chance encounter at the gym led to her first audition, which she landed. She continued to hone her craft, eventually winning over her mother’s support.

Today, Nyamane is a 25-year-old mother of a three-year-old, hailing from Newcastle in KwaZulu-Natal.

Her rise to stardom is a testament to following one’s passion, despite the odds. With a string of successful roles under her belt, Nyamane is a talent to watch, inspiring others to chase their dreams.
