Rosa Ramirez, a woman from the United States, had a distinctive feature – her incredibly long hair, which she hadn’t cut in 25 years.
Her locks had grown so long that she would sometimes accidentally step on them. Despite her husband’s encouragement to try a new style, Rosa was proud of her 1.5-meter-long hair and saw it as a part of her identity.
However, after a quarter of a century, Rosa decided it was time for a change. She visited a hair salon with friends and opted for a dramatic transformation, cutting her hair to shoulder length.
But this makeover wasn’t just about aesthetics; Rosa had a selfless motive. She donated 4 feet of her hair to Locks of Love, a nonprofit organization that creates wigs for children who have lost their hair due to cancer.
Rosa’s decision was driven by a desire to bring joy to those struggling with illness. “I think it would make somebody’s day who’s suffering from a bad disease, it will make their day a little brighter,” she said.
