A Priest’s Prayer is Answered in an Unexpected Way

A chance encounter between a Roman Catholic priest and an old friend led to a remarkable series of events. The priest, on his way to Rome, ran into his friend Mary, who shared with him her struggles to conceive a child with her husband Robert. Despite trying for 15 years, they had been unable to have children.

Moved by their story, the priest offered to light a candle for Mary in the great cathedral in Rome, praying for her to be blessed with children. Mary was grateful for the priest’s kindness, and they parted ways after a warm conversation.

Five years later, the priest received an unexpected visit from Robert, who arrived at his doorstep with an astonishing announcement. Thanks to the priest’s prayer, Mary had given birth to not one, not two, but two sets of twins and a pair of triplets. And if that wasn’t enough, she was now pregnant with quadruplets.

Overjoyed by the news, the priest was then surprised by Robert’s generous gesture – an all-expense-paid trip to Rome. However, Robert’s motive was not entirely altruistic. With a mischievous grin, he revealed that the trip was actually so the priest could blow out the candle he had lit years ago, which had apparently been working overtime.
