The internet is filled with spooky images that claim to capture paranormal activity. While most of these photos can be explained away as mere coincidence or clever editing, some remain unexplained and intriguing. One such photo was taken by a runner named Kay Borleis during a 100-mile run through the Hawaiian rainforest.
In 2019, Kay participated in the Hawaiian Ultra Running Team’s Trail 100-Mile Endurance Run, a grueling five-lap course through dense rainforest. Her friend Cassie joined her as a pacer and took photos during their run. One of these photos appears to show Kay running along a muddy trail, but it’s what’s lurking in the background that’s unsettling.
Upon closer inspection, a dark figure can be seen standing to the left of Kay’s head. The figure is dressed in tattered clothing and seems to be watching Kay as she runs. Kay insists that there was no one else present at the time, and the photo has not been edited or manipulated.
Kay’s discovery sparked her interest in the local legend of the Night Marchers, ghostly spirits of ancient Hawaiian warriors who are said to roam the island. According to legend, these spirits are murderous and vengeful, and anyone who gazes upon them will meet a horrible and violent death.
Fortunately, Kay and her friend did not encounter the Night Marchers during their run. The photo remains a chilling mystery, leaving us to wonder about the existence of these ghostly spirits. Have you ever taken a photo that revealed an unexpected detail? Share your experiences in the comments.
