The Most Epic Fails in Wheel of Fortune History

Wheel of Fortune has been a staple of television entertainment for decades, providing audiences with a mix of excitement, suspense, and occasional cringe-worthy moments. While some contestants have walked away with impressive winnings, others have left with a lifetime supply of embarrassment. In this article, we’ll take a look at some of the most epic fails in Wheel of Fortune history, including a recent blunder that has left viewers stunned.

Meet Matt, the contestant who made the worst mistake in Wheel of Fortune history. Despite his impressive overall performance, which earned him a whopping $23,350, Matt’s blunder in one of the rounds has become the talk of the town. In the “people” category, Matt was faced with a word puzzle that read: TH_ – N_ T – _ N _ R _ T _ _ N. After correctly guessing the presence of the letter “N,” Matt took a moment to think before coming up with a solution that left everyone speechless: “The Best Buttercut.” The correct answer, of course, was “The Next Generation.”

Matt’s mistake may have been the most recent, but it’s certainly not the only epic fail in Wheel of Fortune history. In 2017, contestant Kevin made a similarly embarrassing mistake when faced with the word puzzle: “A STREETCAR NA_ED DESIRE.” Instead of choosing a more obvious letter, Kevin opted for “K,” resulting in the hilarious but incorrect answer: “A STREETCAR NAKED DESIRE.”

Another notable fail occurred in 2009, when contestant Lolita McAuley was participating in a speed round. Faced with the puzzle: S_LF-PO_T_ _ _T, McAuley buzzed in and confidently answered: “SELF-POTATO.” Unfortunately, the correct answer was “SELF-POTRAIT.”

More recently, in 2014, contestant Julian had a series of unfortunate mistakes that cost him a chance at winning $1 million. From mispronouncing the name “Achilles” to incorrectly filling in the blanks in several puzzles, Julian’s mistakes were a masterclass in how not to play Wheel of Fortune.

So, do you think Matt’s mistake was the worst of the bunch? Let us know in the comments!
