A Marriage of Convenience Turns into a Bond of Love

I never thought I’d be the type to settle down, but my parents had other plans. They demanded I get married to inherit the family business, and I knew just the way to spite them. I chose a “country girl” named Mary, thinking she’d be the perfect way to rebel against my parents’ wishes. Little did I know, Mary had secrets of her own.

I met Mary at a charity event, where she was volunteering. She seemed modest and shy, the complete opposite of the women I usually dated. I proposed the idea of a marriage of convenience to her, and to my surprise, she agreed. But there was one condition: no questions about her past.

I thought I had the upper hand, but Mary had her own reasons for agreeing to this arrangement. She came from a wealthy family, and her parents were pushing her to marry someone for status. She wanted her own life, free from expectations. I realized we had more in common than I thought.

As we navigated the complexities of our families’ expectations, I began to see Mary in a different light. She was intelligent, strong, and independent. I found myself respecting her more and more with each passing day.

One evening, as we were discussing charity events, I caught myself watching her. She looked up, and our eyes met. I felt a spark of attraction, and I knew my feelings had shifted. What started as a plan to shock my parents had become something real.

I realized I wanted to be with Mary, not just as part of a scheme, but genuinely. We decided to come clean to our parents, and as we sat them down to reveal the truth, I felt a sense of calm. I wasn’t worried about their reaction; I just knew I was ready to be honest, with Mary by my side.

As we told our parents the truth, I realized that our marriage of convenience had turned into something more. We had found a bond of love, and I knew that our relationship was the real deal.
