My world shattered when I received a message from my husband’s boss, Veronica. The picture she sent showed Eric, my husband, lying in her bed, shirtless and smirking. The caption was clear: “He’s mine.” My heart sank, and my babies kicked inside me as if sensing my distress.
I was seven months pregnant with twins when Eric’s infidelity was revealed. The days that followed were a blur of emotions, but I knew I had to protect myself and my unborn children. Eric and Veronica’s betrayal cut deep, but I refused to be a victim.
Veronica’s proposal was outrageous: she offered to rent me a house and cover my expenses in exchange for one of my babies. I was horrified, but I knew I had to play along to secure my future and that of my children.
I agreed to her terms, but I had a plan. I pretended to be broken and helpless, all the while preparing for my revenge. Veronica and Eric thought they had won, but they had no idea what was coming.
The months that followed were a game of patience. I updated Veronica and Eric on my pregnancy, all the while preparing for the final blow. When my babies were born, I named them Lily and Emma, and I knew that I would do anything to protect them.
The day Veronica and Eric arrived at my house to collect “their” baby was the day I had been waiting for. I stood tall, holding my daughters in my arms, and I told them that neither of my babies was for sale.
Veronica’s face turned white with rage, and Eric looked like he had been punched in the gut. They had underestimated me, and now they were paying the price.
As it turned out, I had signed the house over to myself, and Veronica and Eric had no claim to it. I had also posted their shameful behavior on social media, and their reputations were in tatters.
Eric lost his job, and Veronica’s business and social circles abandoned her. I, on the other hand, was finally free. I had taken back control of my life, and I had protected my children.
As I rocked my babies to sleep, I knew that I had won. I had faced the ultimate betrayal, and I had come out on top.
