Dolores, a 91-year-old widow, had been living alone in her house since her husband Vernon’s passing. Vernon, a well-known antiquarian, had left behind a treasure trove of valuable antiques, which had attracted unwanted attention from thieves. Just as the thieves tried to escape, the police arrived, responding to Dolores’ 911 call. The officers arrested the intruders, revealing that one of them was indeed Bob, Dolores’ suspicious neighbor.
Dolores’ quick thinking and clever trap had saved her from potential harm. The police officer, Robinson, praised her bravery and suggested that she consider her safety, given the rising crime rates. Dolores took his advice and shared her experience with her son Todd, who subsequently moved his family to her town to keep her company.
Together, Dolores and her daughter-in-law Claire revived Vernon’s antique shop, renaming it “Dolores and Vernon’s Treasure House.” The shop became a symbol of Dolores’ resilience and determination to move forward, despite the challenges she faced.
