A Tale of Two Portfolios

My brother Liam and I received an unusual gift from our grandmother when we were kids – equal investment portfolios. She wanted to give us a head start in life. While I let my portfolio grow, Liam cashed out his to buy a brand-new car. Years later, he’s struggling financially, and he and his girlfriend, Madison, are now trying to get their hands on my success.

As kids, Liam got access to his portfolio first and spent the entire $15,000 on a car. I, on the other hand, watched and learned. When I turned 18, I invested my portfolio wisely, and it grew significantly over time. Meanwhile, Liam’s car was long gone, and so was his money.

Over the years, Liam struggled financially, and I helped him out multiple times. I’d cover his rent, send him money for car repairs, and even bail him out of trouble. Each time, he’d promise it was the last time, but the pattern continued.

One night, I confronted him about his spending habits, but he just laughed it off, knowing I’d always bail him out. That’s when Madison showed up at my doorstep, demanding a share of my success. She claimed it wasn’t fair that I had more than Liam, but I knew the truth – Liam had made his choices, and I wasn’t responsible for his financial decisions.

Madison even went as far as to send me a fake legal notice, threatening me with fines and fees if I didn’t give Liam half of my portfolio. But I wasn’t intimidated. I called my lawyer, and it turned out Madison had forged the documents and wasn’t even a lawyer herself. She lost her job, and Liam’s scheme fell apart.

When Liam and Madison showed up at my doorstep again, desperate for money, I slammed the door in their faces. And when I found out they’d slashed my car tires, I called the police and pressed charges. It was time for them to face the consequences of their actions.
