What’s Next for the Trumps? Eric Drops a Hint

Eric Trump, son of President Donald Trump, opened up about the impact of his father’s political career on their family, hinting at their future plans. Currently in his second term, the 79-year-old president transformed from a business mogul running The Trump Organization, founded in 1927, to a political icon with a devoted following after launching his 2015 campaign. The move changed the Trump family’s life forever.

Speaking with the Financial Times, Eric, 41, was asked if he’d run for president after his father’s term. He hesitated, considering the heavy price of politics. “Do I want my kids to face what I’ve been through?” he asked, suggesting that while he or other Trumps could pursue politics, the system’s brutality is daunting. When questioned if 2024 was the last time “Trump” would be on a presidential ballot, he said, “I don’t know. There are more of us.”

As a father of two with his wife Lara, Eric stressed that politics hasn’t made the family richer. “We’d have more money if my father never ran,” he said, pointing to the massive legal and personal costs. He dismissed claims that the Trumps profited from the presidency, saying the toll has been “astronomical.” With Donald Trump now a global figure, Eric’s comments hint at a family crossroads—whether to continue their political journey or focus on protecting their loved ones from its challenges. The world watches as the Trumps decide their next chapter in a saga that’s both polarizing and captivating.
