The comedian, known for his candid style, revealed that he has a difficult history with his mom’s dad, whom he described as abusive during his childhood.
Davidson said he’s closer to his dad’s father and doesn’t have a good relationship with his mom’s dad. “He used to beat me,” Davidson shared, adding that he doesn’t like him. He painted a picture of his grandfather as a very traditional Irish man with a tough demeanor.
Though his grandfather is seriously ill, Davidson admitted to feeling a mix of emotions, including a dark sense of satisfaction about the diagnosis. Still, he wants to be there for his mother, who is saddened by her father’s condition.
